Info about The Northern Pikes

The Northern Pikes are a Canadian rock band formed in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, originally active in 1984 - 1993. The group reunited in 1999 and has remained active, with some lineup changes, since.

The original members were [a=Bryan Potvin], [a=Jay Semko], [a=Merl Bryck], and [a=Glen Hollingshead]. Hollingshead left the band in 1985, replaced by [a=Don Schmid] in 1986. The band went on hiatus 1993 - 1999, when they reunited to tour behind a greatest hits package, which led to a more permanent return to touring & recording. The band toured with [a=Les Stroud] through 2005-2006, releasing an EP credited to "Les Stroud & The Pikes" in 2007. Bryck left the band in 2007, replaced by long-time auxiliary keyboard player [a=Ross Nykiforuk]. Nykiforuk departed in 2011 and the band continued as a trio of Potvin, Semko and Schmid until 2017, when [a=Grapes of Wrath] member [a=Kevin Kane] joined, becoming a full member the next year.
