F1 Racing Championship
TODO: Check how to change music on PS2 during pause menu. Check arcade music on N64 and rip soundtrack. Check hardcoded music on Dreamcast. On PSX, options allow to preview every track theme but these play only in Arcade mode, and are hardcoded to certain track, so there's no way to switch music. Titles of songs coming from that options menu and so the order. They are stored in XA files, use jPSXdec to rip it properly - it might be confusing but it starts with engine sound and music goes further. On PC, music plays only in menu and there are two songs - one for main menu, one for garage. They use MFD format which can be considered a WAV with 12 bytes of pointless data before the header. Once this 12 bytes are trimmed, it should be playable in foobar2000. No in-game titles, it is possible to disable the music entirely. Demo has same soundtrack as full version. On PS2, music is stored in odd SS+SH format but someone figured out already what's going on there, so it was possible to extract it. No particular order here. Menu has hardcoded song, while other music plays only in Arcade mode. No titles of songs displayed, and no jukebox to enable or disable them. Restarting or starting from scratch Arcade mode race will keep the same song - music is hardcoded to certain events in Arcade. It is not possible to change song in Arcade mode as the button for it is grayed out. Game only credits the intro song, giving also credit of music provided by Nichion Japan. On N64, there is hardcoded theme in menu and supposedly music played in Arcade mode but I couldn't hear it. Again no song titles or jukebox. No idea how to rip music from N64 rom. On Dreamcast, use gdidropv1.1 to convert known BIN/CUE image to GDI format. This converts various BIN audio files to RAW, which are in reality WAV. Reason is, several BIN files that are actually WAVE but starting at 0x56220 offset and converting simply cuts the empty content up to this offset. Again no jukebox and no game titles, few songs hardcoded to certain front-end elements, and it seems that songs are also hardcoded to tracks. Licensed music titles checked. Links updated with music.youtube.com. Soundtrack from all versions except GBC available at https://vgm.hcs64.com. Trailers checked. Filenames per song added. In-game versions uploaded.
