Averaging well over 100 shows per year, ‘Foreign Beggars’ are one of the most prolific and versatile Hip Hop outfits to emerge from the UK. Consisting of MC’s Metropolis and Orifice Vulgatron, Producer Dag Nabbit, Human Beat boxer Shlomo and DJ Nonames.

With roots ranging from jazz and classical training, to years of writing recording and performing hip hop, death/power-metal and drum & bass the group’s varied experiences combine to create one of the most explosive live rap showcases on the planet.

Individually, ‘Foreign Beggars’ have achieved a range high profile accomplishments from appearance s on Bjork’s ‘Medulla’ album and the Gorillaz single ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’, to remix production for Amp Fiddler and Corinne Bailey Rae, and touring the States with James Lavelle’s UNKLE outfit. Whilst also having collaborated with a slew of hip hop heavy weights including Stones Throw’s OhNo, Guilty Simpson, Wildchild and Dudley Perkins, producer supreme DJ Vadim, Dabrye, Scratch Perverts, Skinnyman, Task Force and Spain’s Griffi and Tote King they have worked from a host of other genres including Vex’d, Virus Sundicate, Natalie Williams, Noisia and Ram Record’s Subfocus.

Shlomo has also created the worlds first Vocal Orchestra, and was made an “Artist in Residence” at the South Bank Centre at the young age of 22, Curator of the 2007 world beatbox convention in London and judges at the UK Beatbox championships and has performed with the likes of Bjork, Dizzee Rascal, The Specials & Damon Albarn.

Championed on national radio by Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and Tim Westwood, Nonames and Orifice are now into their second year presenting a weekly hip hop and grime show on the BBC Asian Network.

Television features include Channel 4, ITV and MTV, Shlomo Live on Jools Holland and Eastenders, and a live broadcast on the BBC from Glastonbury.

Whilst running one of the most respected Hip Hop record labels in the UK “Dented Records”, and organizing events throughout the country, they haveperformed on stage and opened for Snoop Dogg, Amy Winehouse, Public Enemy, Pharoahe Monch, Iain Brown, Femi Kuti, Mark Ronson, Talib Kweli, Roni Size, Asian Dub Foundation, Pendulum, K’Naan, Wu Tang Clan, Kano, Masta Ace, Herbalizer, East 17! Roots Manuva, and many more.

Sadly Metropolis passed in April 2020.
