Info about Aphrodite
The Drum 'n' Bass DJ and producer Gavin King, who was born in Aberystwyth, Wales, but raised in Eltham, is one of the original rave scene and Jungle pioneers. He was part of the group [l=Urban Shakedown] from 1991 to 1996. He runs the label [l=Aphrodite Recordings] and has founded [l=Urban Takeover] with Michael Hearn aka [a=Micky Finn].
He took his artist name from the name of a house night he used to co-promote from 1988 1990 whilst at Warwick University. He held a regular Sunday show on pirate station Pulse FM until the station shut down in 1995.
