Starting out playing in local electronic bands in Sheffield, UK, Webster also wrote tracks for hip hop outfit The Rock City Crew and another early techno-house band [a=T-CUT-F].
He became in-house engineer for [l=Square Dance Studios] in Nottingham. During his time there, he began to record his own music.
In 1995 he started [l=Remote], two years after relocating to San Francisco, USA.
