Info about D-Train
American boogie-soul funk group, formed in a Brooklyn, New York City high school in the early 1980s by [a=James "D-Train" Williams] (lead vocals) and [a=Hubert Eaves III] (keyboards, bass, drums and arrangements). They garnered much success on the early 1980s disco scene.
Fusing gospel-influenced vocals with tight synth-funk production, they quickly became trailblazers of the post-disco era. Their sound was defined by pulsating basslines, shimmering keys, and uplifting hooks, as heard on timeless club anthems like "You're the One for Me", "Keep On", and "Something's on Your Mind".
